Travis Picking
- Finger-Style
Travis
picking (named after country guitarist Merle Travis
who invented the style) is probably the most common
way of fingerstyle playing. There are many variations
of Travis picking as you will see, but generally
the thumb is alternating lower bass notes while
the fingers play different strings in a predictable
pattern.

Here we are switching from a C major
chord into an A minor chord, but the Travis Picking
remains the same.
